Betty Stogs is our best selling, CAMRA award-winning copper-coloured bitter. Brewed in Truro since 1997, we use Cornish water, whole-flower Celeia, Northdown and Aurora hops, malted barley and wheat, and Skinner’s unique yeast.
Style: Copper-coloured bitter
Taste notes: Light malty aroma, a floral almost cedar taste with a sharp tang of bitter grapefruit
Drink with: This is an ale that has the strength of character to take on tasty dishes like stews, hard cheeses, and meat-packed pasties
Bitterness: 37 IBU
In Cornish folklore Betty Stogs was reputedly full-bodied, golden-hearted and just a little fruity. So you can see why we chose to name our award-winning, smooth-drinking amber ale after her. Especially as both Bettys are often to be found at the centre of a good party. Join us in raising a glass to Betty Stogs – truly the Queen of Cornish ales.
